Choose legitimate brands and products
Reference brand reputation: well-known brands usually have a more stringent quality control system and good after-sales service, and the data lines produced by them are more guaranteed in terms of quality and safety. For example, Anker, Belkin, UGREEN and other brands have a high visibility and good user reputation in the market.
Check the certification mark: such as USB-IF certification, which ensures compatibility and safety of products; MFi certification for Apple devices also guarantees product quality and safety.
Check appearance and material
Wire material: The outer skin of high-quality data cables is often made of soft, wear-resistant TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) or nylon braided material. TPE material feel comfortable, good bending resistance; Nylon woven material is strong and durable, excellent tensile and anti-winding properties.
Plug work: the plug is generally made of copper and other metal materials, and the surface is gold-plated or nickel-plated, with good electrical conductivity and wear resistance. The plug should have no burr, no defect, smooth edge, smooth insertion into the device, and the connection part is reinforced, such as injection molding or metal shell wrap.
Printed logo: The brand identity, model, specifications and other information on the surface of the regular data line are clearly printed and not easy to fade. If the logo is fuzzy, incomplete or easy to erase, it may be fake and shoddy products.
Perform performance tests
Charging speed test: Use the same charger and device, respectively connected to different data lines for charging, observe the device power growth rate, good quality data line charging speed is relatively fast, can provide the required current stably.
Data transmission speed test: Connect the data line to the computer and mobile devices, transfer large files, such as video, music, etc., observe the transmission speed and stability, high-quality data line transmission speed and no interruption or error in the process.
Tensile strength test: gently pull the data line to feel its tensile strength, a good data line will not easily deform or damage under a certain tension, and the internal wire and connection parts are firm. The two ends of the data line can also be fixed, and the middle of the tension can be applied to observe whether it can withstand without breaking.
Focus on security features
Overcurrent protection: High quality data lines are equipped with overcurrent protection devices to prevent excessive current from damaging the equipment.
Short circuit protection: The power supply can be cut off in time when the short circuit is encountered to protect the safety of equipment and users.
Temperature control: With good heat dissipation performance, effectively prevent overheating and reduce the risk of fire.
Anti-interference ability: The internal shield layer design can reduce electromagnetic interference and ensure the stability of data transmission.
Understand relevant standards and test reports
Compliance with national standards: In China, data lines must comply with GB 4943 "Safety Requirements for Electronic Equipment" and other relevant standards, including electrical safety testing, mechanical strength and durability testing, fire safety testing, user safety assessment, electromagnetic compatibility testing and other items.
Check the test report: If the product has a qualified test report issued by an authoritative third-party testing organization, such as the UL9990 test report, it can prove that it meets certain quality and safety standards.
