It turns out that mobile phone data cable and charging cable are completely different! What are the differences and how?
01 What's the difference between charging cable and data cable?
Functional Differences:
The functional difference is easy to understand.
Charging cables, as the name suggests, are used only to charge your phone;
Data line, in addition to charging, can also connect the phone to the computer to transmit data;
In other words, the data cable can be used as a charging cable, but the charging cable may not be used as a data cable.
Differences in structure:
The reason for the functional difference, the most direct factor is that the structure is different. Let's look at the structure of the data line first.
We can see that there will be 4 touch pads, and the corresponding functions of the lines connected by these touch pads are as follows:
1 ground line, that is to connect the black line, generally also known as zero line;
2. Read the data line, connect the green wire, that is, the signal out line, can be understood as signal output;
3. Write data line, connect the white wire, signal into the line, can be understood as signal input;
4. The positive terminal of power supply is connected to the red wire, which can also be said to be the +5V wire.
See here everyone should be very clear, in the middle of the two are read and write data line, it is because of these two lines, data line can support the phone to connect to the computer transmission data.
However, in order to save costs, some charging cables directly remove the middle two cables, that is, the function of reading and writing data is removed. Therefore, if you buy such cables, you will find that they can only charge, but cannot transmit data cables.
Part of the ungood manufacturers in order to seek profits, do not have the data transmission function of the charging line as data line to sell, leading to a lot of do not understand distinguish machine friends easily, after buying back to find that can only charge can not transmit data, also baffling.
Therefore, when choosing the data line, either the original or the third party of the regular brand, at least in terms of quality and function, there is a certain guarantee.
02 How to detect the bought charging cable or data cable?
The simplest and most direct way: just get the cable and connect it directly to your phone and computer to see if you can transfer data.
Of course, whether it can be successfully connected depends on the device as well as the line. Therefore, if it can't be directly transmitted after connecting to the computer, you can first check what the reason is and then conclude whether you bought the wrong line.
Cause detection of data line failure to transmit data:
1. If you use a desktop computer, the USB power supply in the front port may be insufficient. Try replacing the usb port in the back.
2. Your computer may not have this driver, that is, it does not support! This requires a different computer to try;
3. Keep the same line, change another phone/computer and continue to try to see if it can be connected to transmit data;
4. After connecting to the computer, check whether the Settings are correct:
Go to [Settings] - [Developer Options] and find [usb Debug Mode].
Note: If there is no developer option on the mobile phone, you can go to [Settings] - [About Mobile Phone] - [Version number] and continuously click N for this version number until [Developer Options] appears.
If after all kinds of detection, or can only charge can not transmit data, it can be determined that you buy a "false data line", that is to say, it is actually a charging line, not a data line. So you can see that it can charge, but it can't transmit data.
Of course, it's also possible that the cable you bought is broken
Now do you know why some cables can only charge and not transmit data when using data cables? So in the future, when you choose the data line, come to JMTO, we will provide professional knowledge training, but also give you the best data line.
